Applications for funding are now being accepted by the United Way South Georgian Bay, which includes the communities of Collingwood, Clearview Township, Town of the Blue Mountains and Wasaga Beach. The deadline for submission is June 30, 2012.

The United Way is rolling out a new “community impact” approach to funding.

This year any non-profit organization that is federally incorporated may apply, provided its project or programming aligns with the United Way’s three priorities areas: 1) Children and Youth 2) Strong and Healthy Communities and 3) Support for families and individuals who are working toward financial stability.

The idea behind community impact, a national program supported by United Way’s across the country, is that local priorities are identified by stakeholders who work collaboratively with community agencies to address community needs and fund accordingly based on these priorities.

Community Impact Coordinator Joslyn Biggins has scheduled a training session for interested agencies to be held at the Collingwood Public Library on Thursday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m. Agencies will learn more about the new funding allocations process, the United Way’s funding priority areas and how outcome measurement will help to track social change in South Georgian Bay.

To download the application form, please visit our site or contact the United Way office at 705-444-1146 or impact@unitedwaysgb.ca
