The Collingwood Public Library is launching a new chess club for adults. Beginning on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., the club provides chess players, eighteen and older, the opportunity to test their skills against worthy opponents.
“The Collingwood Public Library Adult Chess Club offers players a chance to meet in a fun environment.
For now, games will be played for pure enjoyment. As the club develops, opportunities will arise for rated tournaments,” say club organizers Tim denBok and Ian Chadwick.
Interested players should sign up at the Library’s Public Service Desk. The club is open to all levels of chess players, and free to attend. The Library supplies chessboards for all attendees. Sessions will continue every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
