The Town of Collingwood has been chosen as the host of the 2012 Ontario Winter Games by the Sport Alliance of Ontario. The Town will partner with facilities in outlining communities including The Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township, and Midland. The Games will take place between the dates of March 5th - 12th, 2012.

Blair McIntosh, Director of Games for the Sport Alliance of Ontario said “The Town of Collingwood has a strong history of hosting successful sporting events including the Ontario Winter Games. “They have a tradition of having a strong athlete centred focus”. We are confident that the care and comfort of the participants will be a priority and we look forward to working with the Organizing Committee on hosting a very successful 2012 Ontario Winter Games.”
The Ontario Games are the largest multi-sport event in the province, with over 3,500 athletes competing in a number of sports. The Games provide athletes under 22 with development and competitive opportunities that will prepare them for national and international competition.
